Oolong (Wuyi) Tea

Single Estate Oolong Tea

Wuyi Oolong Tea, also known as Yancha or "rock tea," is a traditional Chinese tea grown in the rugged, mineral-rich soil of the Wuyi Mountains. Partially oxidised and roasted over charcoal, this tea develops a rich, layered profile with deep roasted notes, subtle smokiness, and hints of stone fruit and caramel. With a full-bodied mouthfeel and a balanced minerality, Wuyi Oolong is a favourite among tea connoisseurs for its depth and complexity.

This tea is best enjoyed on its own to appreciate its unique balance of roast, fruit, and mineral notes. It pairs well with savoury dishes, nuts, and light desserts, and can be re-steeped multiple times, revealing new layers of flavour with each infusion.

Ingredients

100% Organic Oolong Tea.

Flavour Notes:

  • Aroma: Warm and toasty, with mineral-rich earthiness and hints of dried fruit and caramel.
  • Flavour: Bold and smooth, with deep roasted notes, a slight smokiness, and a subtle sweetness of stone fruit and nuts.
  • Finish: Long and lingering, with a balanced minerality and light caramel undertone.
  • Pairing: Pairs well with roasted nuts, grilled meats, stir-fried dishes, and mildly sweet pastries. Best enjoyed without milk to appreciate its complexity.

Origin Story:

Wuyi Oolong has been cultivated in China’s Fujian Province for centuries, known for its unique rock-grown character. The Wuyi Mountains' rich mineral soil and traditional charcoal roasting technique give this tea its signature depth and complexity, making it one of the most treasured oolongs in Chinese tea culture.
