Business Development Manager (Remote)

Goodness Tea is a fast-growing Australian brand making its mark with premium organic loose-leaf tea. With a strong direct-to-consumer foundation, growing wholesale traction, and retail-ready packaging designed for both service and shelf presence, we are now ready to accelerate our wholesale growth.

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to become a key commercial representative for the brand. This is a hands-on, founder-adjacent role for a natural connector who knows how to open doors and build long-term partnerships across hospitality, wellness, gifting and boutique retail.


The Opportunity

This is more than a standard sales role. Initially, you will be on the ground building relationships, converting accounts and proving repeatable wholesale growth. As Goodness Tea scales, there is clear potential for this role to develop into a Head of Sales position, with responsibility for building and managing the sales function from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities

  • Market Expansion: Leverage your existing network to introduce Goodness Tea to cafés, restaurants, independent grocers, florists, spas, wellness spaces, boutique accommodation, gift stores and premium hospitality venues.
  • Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with buyers, business owners and venue operators, moving conversations from initial introduction to active wholesale partnerships.
  • Brand Representation: Present the Goodness Tea range in a polished, commercial and brand-aligned way that reflects our premium positioning.
  • End-to-End Conversion: Manage the full sales cycle, including outreach, sampling, pricing conversations, onboarding and early account management.
  • Strategic Growth: Maintain a clear sales pipeline and provide market feedback to help refine our wholesale systems, pricing, sales materials and future team structure.


About You

You are a commercially minded sales or business development professional with an established network across FMCG, hospitality, food and beverage, wellness, gifting or premium retail.

You understand that selling a premium product requires more than a pitch. It requires trust, follow-up, commercial awareness and a clear understanding of what makes a product valuable to a stockist or venue.

You will be a strong fit if you have:

  • Established relationships with cafés, restaurants, independent retailers, wellness spaces, boutique accommodation, florists, gift stores or premium hospitality venues.
  • Proven experience in wholesale sales, account management or business development.
  • The ability to identify new opportunities and convert them into active accounts.
  • Polished communication and confidence speaking with business owners, buyers and decision-makers.
  • Strong organisation, follow-up discipline and pipeline management.
  • The ability to work independently in a hands-on, high-growth environment.
  • A strong understanding of the Australian wholesale market.

Position: Business Development Manager
Location: Flexible / remote, with an Australia-wide wholesale focus
Engagement: Full-time, part-time or contractor arrangement considered
Remuneration: Flexible and open for discussion. Options may include base salary, commission, performance incentives and equity in the company for the right long-term candidate.
